How is your job? Fantastic. I looove my company--Epic Systems. After 5 years I get a month long paid sabbatical (in addition to regular vacay) to anywhere in the world for me and another person. We also had steak and lobster at our company picnic.
What exactly do you do? So my company makes software for the health care industry (electronic medical records, pharmacy, radiology, billing, scheduling...anything you can think of). I am a training manager, meaning I will be teaching my people who "own" the training project at their hospital how to do their job and traveling/conference calls to meet with them to make sure they are doing everything right. And here in Madison I get to manage a bunch of Epic people who work on customer training projects.
Are the people you work with cool? I'd say about 80% are under 30yr so most of the are great fun and still in college mode (which can actually get really annoying sometimes--my hallway is like frat row) But we also have lots of computer developers, they aren't so cool to hand with.
Do you like it? love it!
Do you see yourself there for a while? Yes but Jesse is getting commission as an Air Force officer in May, so depending if he decides to do it for only 4 years, he'll move here. If he makes it a career, I'll go there (where ever there is)
How do you like Madison? It's awesome. It's like a mini San Fran, except that WI is the #1 binge drinking state
Where do you like? All over. It's great fun.
Have a roommate or are you a balla and can live in your own place? Balla! But now I'm totally broke until I get paid next month because I just bought a bunch of furniture.
